Add an online course preview

Learn how you can add a course preview on Wajooba.

Some interested customers may want to test a few sessions of the course before they actually register and pay for a membership on the online course. Online course previews allow them to check your introduction materials and the topics you’ll further discuss once they are already a member taking the course.

Members who registered for an online course preview are leads or possible customers. With this, you would want to make the first few activities in the online course as enticing and informative as possible and make this a part of your marketing strategy. We recommend giving them an overview or framework of the entire course so they would know what to expect.

💡 Members who registered for an online course preview have their own batch. By default, they will be a part of the “demo” batch.

We’ll help you set up chapters that will be part of your course preview.

Step 1: Allow online course previews

On the Add Pricing step of the course setup, select the Allow Online Course Preview checkbox to allow the course to have course previews.

If you’re doing this after you created the course. Follow these steps:

  1. Go to Courses and select the course.
  2. To edit the course, select the pencil ✏️ icon from the upper right corner of the page. This directs you back to the course setup.
  3. On the Add Pricing step, select the Allow Online Course Preview checkbox.
  4. Select Next until the last step, then select Submit.

This should give members an option to register for an online course preview on the course sales page.

Step 2: Publish activities for online course preview

Select a few activities or tests that you want to be available for the course preview. We recommend one or two activities, just for the members to have an idea about the course.

Members who registered for a course preview have their own batch labeled as "demo" by default.

  1. From the course, go to Classes & Curriculum.
  2. Under Curriculum, select the section then the activity you want to be available for a course preview.
  3. Scroll down to the bottom part of the activity and select the Enable Course Preview checkbox, then select Submit Activity.
  4. Scroll back up and select the Manage Batch 👥 icon, then toggle the batch dedicated for the course preview members.

Members who are grouped under the “demo” batch will continue to have access to chapters that are also published for their batch.

Once a member decides to purchase one of the memberships, you’ll need to move them to one of your actual batches to give them access to chapters exclusive to members with a membership.

💡 Note that moving a member to a different batch resets their progress on the course, except the files that they’ve previously uploaded such as certificates, homework, files, and so on.
